Gouache on hot pressed 100% cotton paper
This painting is from a photo I took on a visit to Chilliwack Lake in British Columbia. There is a very long road to get there, one way in and one way out. The lake is quite isolated, so usually only a handful of people there at a time. It is flanked by towering mountains an dsurrounded by ancient old-growth trees. I would take my dog and we would hike, explore and swim in the Alpine Lake. The lake is a natural lake fed by the meltwaters from the surrounding mountains and glaciers as well as Chilliwack River. It is very peaceful.
I captured light just peeking through the cloudbreak and it rested on this old-growth cedar. Just beautiful.
